4. How We Use Your Information
We process personal information for the following purposes:

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We use the following categories:
Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the Site to function — maintaining your shopping cart, keeping you logged in, processing checkout, security, and load balancing. These come from WordPress, WooCommerce, and Stripe. They cannot be switched off.
Statistics (analytics) cookies. Used to understand how visitors find and use the Site so we can improve it. Set by Google Analytics.
Marketing cookies. Used to deliver and measure advertising, including remarketing ads shown to you on other websites after you visit ours. Set by Google Ads and by YouTube when a video is played or loaded.
Functional cookies. Remember preferences such as your region or previously viewed items.
Managing cookies
Our cookie banner sets statistics and marketing cookies by default when you continue to use the Site. You may withdraw consent at any time by visiting our cookie preferences page, where you can opt out of statistics and marketing cookies. Strictly necessary cookies will remain active.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting existing cookies. Disabling cookies may prevent parts of the Site — including checkout — from working correctly.
Additional opt-outs:
- Google Analytics: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
- Google Ads personalization: Google Ads Settings
- Industry opt-outs: optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
Web browsers may offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for interpreting it, the Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where we are required to do so by applicable state law, treating it as a request to opt out of targeted advertising for that browser.
6. Third-Party Services We Use
| Service | Provider | What it does with your data | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Payments | Stripe, Inc. | Processes card payments, performs fraud screening. Receives your payment details directly. | stripe.com/privacy |
| Website and store platform | WordPress / WooCommerce (self-hosted), plus our web host | Stores account, order, and site data | Provided on request |
| Analytics | Google LLC (Google Analytics) | Measures Site traffic and usage; assigns a pseudonymous identifier to your browser | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Advertising | Google LLC (Google Ads / remarketing) | Delivers and measures ads, including ads shown to you on other sites | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Email marketing | Our email service provider | Sends newsletters, tracks opens, clicks, and unsubscribes | Named on request; see below |
| Embedded video | YouTube (Google LLC) | Serves the embedded video; may set cookies and collect viewing and device data | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Shipping | Common carriers (e.g., USPS, UPS, FedEx) | Delivers your order using the address you provide | Carrier's own policy |
Embedded YouTube video. Our Site includes at least one embedded YouTube video. When the video loads or you play it, YouTube may set cookies and collect information about your device and viewing, even if you do not have a Google account. This processing is governed by Google's privacy policy and is not controlled by us.
7. How We Share Your Information
We share personal information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information for money.
- Service providers. Payment processors, hosting providers, email platforms, analytics providers, and shipping carriers, each of whom may use the information only to perform services for us.
- Advertising partners. Google, in connection with remarketing and ad measurement. Under some state privacy laws, sharing online identifiers with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising is treated as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out through our cookie preferences page or the links in Section 5.
- Legal and safety. Law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties where we believe disclosure is required by law, necessary to enforce our terms, or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Beer We Go, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to this policy continuing to apply to the transferred information.
- With your direction or consent. Where you ask us to share information with a third party.
8. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Order and transaction records | 7 years after the transaction, to meet tax and accounting requirements |
| Customer account data | Until you delete your account or request deletion, then removed within 30 days except where retention is legally required |
| Newsletter subscriber data | Until you unsubscribe; your email address is then retained on a suppression list so we do not contact you again |
| Customer service correspondence | 3 years from the last contact |
| Analytics data | Up to 14 months in Google Analytics |
| Server and security logs | Up to 12 months |
We may retain information longer where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
9. How We Protect Your Information
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including TLS/SSL encryption of data in transit, hashed password storage, access controls limiting who can view customer data, and use of a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor so that full card numbers never reach our servers.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you share information with us at your own risk. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at [email protected].
10. Your Choices and Rights

Email [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Request" and tell us what you'd like us to do. We will respond within 45 days, and may extend that period by an additional 45 days where reasonably necessary, in which case we will tell you.
To protect your information, we need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will typically ask you to confirm the email address associated with your account or order, and may ask for additional details such as an order number. We will not use verification information for any other purpose.
Authorized agents. You may designate someone to submit a request on your behalf. We will require written proof of authorization and may still contact you directly to confirm.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject line "Privacy Appeal." We will respond in writing with our reasoning.
State-specific note
Several U.S. states have enacted comprehensive consumer privacy laws granting residents specific rights. Whether a given law applies to us depends on that state's law and our size and activities, and Pennsylvania and West Virginia have not enacted comprehensive consumer privacy statutes as of the effective date above. Rather than track these distinctions, we extend the rights listed in this section to all U.S. visitors as a matter of practice.
11. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal information may contact us at [email protected].
12. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to other websites and social media platforms. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If we make material changes to how we use your personal information, we will provide additional notice, such as a notice on the Site or an email to registered account holders. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
